When February comes around, beer fans know it’s time to embrace the dark side of beer. Each year, the Mountain Sun Pubs fill their taps with a selection of stouts throughout the month of February. In the same spirit, we’re diving into the deep, dark, and roasted flavors and highlighting some of the delicious stouts in our portfolio in our Mixed 6 this month! Cheers!

O’Hara’s Irish Stout
O’Hara’s Irish Stout has a robust roast flavor complemented by a full-bodied and smooth mouth feel. The generous addition of Fuggle hops lends a tart bitterness to the dry espresso-like finish. This sessionable stout beer is filled with rich complex coffee aromas mingled with light licorice notes. The combination of traditional stout hops with an extra pinch of roast barley allows us to stay true to Irish tradition, recreating a taste so often yearned for by stout drinkers.

Epic Brewing Son of a Baptist Coffee Stout
Son on a Baptist is the 8% non-barrel aged little brother to Big Bad Baptist. Its flavor profile was designed to highlight the complex and unique flavors of small batch coffees. We sought out creative and innovative roasters and asked them which beans they’re passionate about. Each release of Son of a Baptist is widely different, depending on the coffee selected. Some are fruity and sweet with notes of jam and chocolate, other are rich and earthy with a big roasted finish.

Tivoli Hello Darkness Stout
An old friend of Tivoli, Stouts were traditionally brewed as a stronger (stouter) version of a porter and found popularity among the working class of London during the 18th century. It remains a crowd pleaser to this day, and you’ll find our version light and dry, but with an emphasis on the roasted character and aroma of the dark malts we use to brew it.

DESTIHL Moonjumper Milk Stout
Fasten your space helmet because this stout will quickly have you orbiting the moon. Notes of roasted and chocolate malts round out our milk stout’s sweet side, creating a well-balanced beer with a smooth mouthfeel and creamy tan head. One sip of this medium-bodied stout will have you jumping over the moon for another.

Hitachino Nest Espresso Stout
From Japan’s most prestigious brewery, the unusual character of Hitachino Nest Espresso Stout stems from the fact that the brewery is using the recipe of a Russian Imperial Stout as base and cold matured with ground coffee beans with Saphir and Northern Brewer hops. The recipe is based on the imperial stout loved by the Russian emperor.
